When we read that kind of writing in government regulations, we call it bureaucratese; when we read it in legal documents, legalese; in academic writing that inflates small ideas into gassy abstractions, academese.  [Style: Lessons in Clarity and Grace by Joseph Williams]

Teehee, gassy abstractions!  And “academese” sounds like a sneeze.
